Lord of the Rings Marathon
Yesterday I spent 10 hours on a Lord of the Rings marathon. Fun, I’d recommend doing that to anyone! Photos are available over at De Aardwormen.

That’s nothing. Me and my pals are planning a movie marathon marathon. 15 days of superb movies.
Been there. Suffered that. (It was a bad movie marathon, with stuff you’d have to see to believe).
We watched Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre, Het Eiland and a Wildboyz episode afterwards.
Rob: A movie marathon marathon sounds like fun to do. When are you guys planning on doing that? I’d have to wait ’til July if I want to have 15 days off!
Indranil: You choose the movies or what? :P
I did a LOTR marathon a few months ago. All three movies. I saw the third one *before* the avant-premiere (which was the next day). :D
Mathias, currently we have our hopes set on the summer, somewhere. But it may take a while though, as I have some trips planned (NYC and England ring a bell?).
But hey, you’re free to come.
Rob, best of luck.
Mathias, how did you guess? :P
A LotR marathon would be fun. Of course, if I did that it’d be 12 hours of movie watching and if we’re not totally out of it then some special features.
Now that I own all 3 special extended edition DVD boxed sets of LOTR, I plan on doing the same. I also plan on making sure there is at least 1 person in attendance that has never seen the films.
I managed a marathon with the Extended Editions that included the extras on the ROTK. After that much time with that film extravaganza by the time you get to “Frodo’s last scene” on the appendix disc you’re getting teary eye for no good reason you can think of. :)

I think that was it.
Eek
painful
but I’m still glad I went…
but…I haven’t seen LOTR:ROTK extended yet
/sniffles
I think a LOTR marathon is a great idea! There can’t be a person regarding the epic with indifference. Now matter how many times you watch it — the trilogy still leaves something to think about.
Luke, I wish you could find some time and go for it — no doubt you’ll enjoy!
I’ve done the three movies over three days but never at once, just seems to much to me.
I’ve done a LOTR marathon 3 TIMES!!! I’m freakishly obsessed. I think it’s great. If you’re a LOTR freak you HAVE to do it or else you can’t consider yourself a freak.
